Born in Venezuela, adopted by French parents, and residing in the Unites States since she was three years old, Sophie’s life has been as complex and rich as her heritage.

She started off reading all kinds of books and novels – though she had a definite preference for fiction, particularly fantasy novels. She also spent hours listening to classical music and reading the composers’ biographies as well as stories based on the music. This exposure gave her a thirst to create her own.

She wrote her first full-length novel when she was 11 and composed her first piano solo piece at 13. She went to Rollins College in 2011, and graduated with a Bachelors in English with Honors, as well as minors in both Music and Creative Writing.

Sophie started publishing short stories, and her orchestral and piano pieces in literary magazines while she was still in college. A few years later she started writing The Four Suitors, a medieval fantasy coming-of-age novel with feminist themes.

She is now an indie author, publishing novels and novellas, in the fantasy and science fiction genres. She is also an indie composer with three albums in the neoclassical and jazz genres under her belt. She has also scored the soundtracks for a few short films and collaborated with a chemistry professor and lifelong poet to create a song based on one of his works. She is currently the lead singer and composer in her jazz group Jazz Bonbon.

Testimonials

Music

“Sophie really helped bring our short film to life with music that was carefully crafted for each story beat. The result was a horror soundtrack worthy of a Hitchcock film. She’s passionate about what she does and I’d would work with her again in heartbeat!”

About the soundtrack of Truth Be Told

“Okay, first off, I love the piece. It really lends the scenes a lot of class. And I, of course, didn’t include the music I originally used because I didn’t want to influence what you wrote. And it gives a completely different feel which I love.”

About the soundtrack of Outside In

I did not know Ms Sophie Jupillat Posey or her work before we worked together. I was looking for someone who had the passion and creativity to take my words and turned them into music melody and magic. Sophie delivered! I thank her for joining me in getting out the message about engaging students early in hands on laboratory research. Thanks a million Sophie.

About the poetry and music collaboration We Are

Writing

“I have to be honest, I chose this book for the cover art! However, this feminist decisive protagonist got under my skin. Author Sophie Jupillat Posey then wove a spellbinding fantasy that kept me reading even through some uncomfortable trophes that hint at Jungian psychology. This might be her first published novel; I certainly hope it isn’t her last. Highly Recommended. 5/5”

About The Four Suitors

“Thank you Sophie Jupillat Posey. This was a fabulous read and I absolutely loved it!

5 there is no such thing as giving up stars!

In the land of epic multi-volume fantasy series, the stand-alone is a much rarer beast! And it’s really nice and refreshing at times to start a book that you know will reach it’s conclusion in one, single volume. The Four Suitors is a perfect example of a well crafted fantasy standalone that manages to nicely wrap up all threads, as well as leave the reader with that sense of satisfaction at the end.”

Laura Child

About The Four Suitors

“This was an unexpected short read for me. It turns out that this novella is more about saving the earth with a hero in direct liaison with Mother earth. He’s trying to convince her not to destroy the human race as humans have been destroying the earth slowly but surely.

I was attracted to the cover hence the requisition and here I thought a novella, short and sweet. Well, I was wrong to assume as although it was short and sweet, it did carry some important messages especially with regards to saving the earth.

Overall, it was well written, well expressed with a melancholy feel. It’s well rounded with a good intent which I’ve enjoyed. Having able to relate to it since it’s also our current global warming issue, I think most of us can resonate with this.”
